In common parlance sexual health would mean, anything or everything to do with sexual activity, a simple explanation for the term would be sexual intercourse. What in medical term is coitus, meaning coming together. For a common man it is sex with the penis in the vagina. Intercourse is a natural phenomenon, it’s not a science which needs to be learned, it is within us. From millions of years man has been doing it instinctively.
The feeling of sexual contact is something which has always been curtailed; sexual contact has always been considered naughty, secret, dangerous, forbidden or even criminal. The root cause of thinking such a pious natural urge as a forbidden act is our nature. From time immemorial the human species has thought of sex as a means of reproduction. Pleasure was a luxury, and communication between the sexes was minimal.

A condition of the body wherein the proper functioning of the body or one of its parts is impaired is known as a disease. Any living being on this earth whether humans, animals or plants can succumb to disease. Each disease has its own set of signals that enables a doctor diagnose the problems. Every disease has a cause although there still remain a number of diseases the causes of which are yet to be known. There is a cycle of beginning, time span of affliction and end where it either disappears leaving certain marks on the body or kills its victim. The disease can be either infectious or non-infectious.

The problem of erectile dysfunction or formerly called ‘impotency’ is a problem in which man can’t achieve erection to mate with his partner or can’t hold the achieved erection enough to complete the process of sex. It is totally different from other problems or conditions that affect the normal sexual intercourse such as lack of sexual desire, various problems connected with ejaculation and last but the vast ‘orgasm’. Erectile dysfunction problem can occur at any age but it is most common in the men past the age of 60.
The problem of erectile dysfunction or ED can be divided into three different parts called complete inability to achieve erection, inconsistency in achieving erection or the third one called erection is achieved only for the shorter period of time.
